Though Parker was in the middle of his two-week family vacation with grandma, his dad, and brother at a lake in Wisconsin, he flew across the country to be there for the big weekend. One leg of his flight was cancelled; he spent the night in a hotel in MN, and arrived 24 hours late, thus making his stay just less than 48 hours. He even drove himself in my dad’s car from the airport to our house. All this made me think that this guy is really serious about me and about building relationships with my family. It was fun so see Morgan give her valedictorian speech, especially since Park and I wrote most of it :) She surprised us all so much with her delivery of the speech, that Brian turned to me afterward and said that maybe she should consider a career in public speaking! It rained the whole weekend and was cold, so we stayed cooped up inside playing games, eating good food, watching movies, and going in the hot tub. Parker and I did make it out one night for a walk, which in addition to cuddling and talking, were both of our favorite moments about the trip. It was fun to go to church together as Parker feels like CBCBC is partly home. Morgan’s events took most of the focus of the weekend, though Parker was a real trooper. At the reception, he mingled with people and also gave me some space so that I could visit with old friends like the Gates and Newmans. He was a fantastic boyfriend and definitely deserves an award!
